Is our picture-day schedule flexible?
You bet! Our team of experts will work with you in order to make a schedule that accounts for everything you have going on during picture day. We’ll look at everything from class sizes, to bell schedules, to special events, in order to make sure you have the smoothest experience possible. Then we’ll always send a supervisor who can work with your team day-of in order to adjust as needed.
Is THE SUMNER PHOTOGRAPHY team experienced?
Yes! Sumner Photography has been serving schools since the early 1990s, and many of our team members have been with us since the beginning. We carefully background-check and train every new team member to ensure they meet our high standards. Plus, one of our Picture Day Supervisors is always present at each school picture event to make sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
what sorts of resources do you provide?
All of our school partners receive customized resources to meet their specific needs. Standard resources typically include student ID cards (with designs tailored just for your school), administrative and security images, class composites, and cumulative file stickers.
How do i learn more about your different programs?

How well do you work with special-need students?
We take great pride in creating a comfortable, supportive experience for all students, including those with special needs. Our owner, Angie Sumner, holds a degree in education with an emphasis on special needs, and every member of our team has received additional training to ensure students feel cared for and at ease in front of the camera. Don’t let picture-day catch you by surprise
SCHOOL PICTURE TOP TIPS:
Dress for Success: Help your child choose an outfit that looks good and makes them feel good—confidence is the secret ingredient for a great photo! Solid colors usually work best, while busy patterns, logos, or slogans can distract from your child’s face. After all, you want the focus on their bright smile, not a brand name.
If your school has a dress code, make sure your student’s outfit follows those guidelines for picture day.
Happy Hair: Just like clothing, a hairstyle your child feels good about will boost their confidence on picture day. Any style works—it’s all about what makes them comfortable. If you’re planning a haircut, try to schedule it a few days beforehand so there’s time for it to settle in (or for them to adjust it if they’d like).
You Do You: Remind your child to relax and just be themselves—there’s no such thing as a “perfect picture.” Picture day is about capturing who they are in this moment. Our photographers will help with posture and guide them gently, but freckles, curls, or quirks are part of what makes your child unique. If your child feels self-conscious about temporary blemishes, we also offer a retouching package option in our store that you can check out later.

WHEN IS MY CHILD’S PICTURE DAY?
A picture day flyer will be sent home with your child about one to two weeks prior to the actual date. You can also Contact Us and we would be happy to give you info on your picture day.
HOW SHOULD MY CHILD DRESS FOR PICTURE DAY?
We recommend choosing an outfit that both reflects your child’s personality at this stage of life and feels timeless when you look back on these photos in years to come. Picture day portraits often appear in the school yearbook, so something neat, comfortable, and free of large logos or distracting patterns usually works best. Most importantly, pick something your child feels confident and happy wearing—it will shine through in their smile!
CAN I GET A PRINT RELEASE OF OUR PORTRAITS?
Yes! Most of our digital packages include a print release, which gives you the right to make unlimited personal prints of the images you purchase. Please note that Sumner Photography retains the copyright for all portraits we take. This means that physical prints purchased directly from us cannot be photocopied, scanned, or reproduced without a print release.
ON PICTURE DAY, WILL SOMEONE HELP MY CHILD PREPARE?
Our photography team follows a hands-off policy, which means we don’t physically adjust students’ clothing or hair. Instead, our photographers will kindly coach and guide your child with verbal reminders—things like straightening collars, smoothing hair, or adjusting posture—so they look their best in front of the camera. We encourage parents to send children prepared and ready, but rest assured we’ll do our part to help them feel comfortable and confident in the moment.
If you have a special request for your child’s portrait like glasses being off, hair up or down, etc., please encourage your student to communicate this to our photographers.
HOW DO I ORDER MY PORTRAITS?

WHEN WILL MY PICTURES ARRIVE?
We are working hard to get your portraits out as fast as possible! Please Contact Us at help@SumnerPhotography.net to find out specific details about when your pictures will arrive.
WHAT IF WE MISS PICTURE DAY?
No need to worry! Depending on the program your school has chosen, there might be an on-campus make-up picture day available for your student to attend to either take their first round of photographs, or retake their images.

WHAT IF I’M NOT HAPPY WITH MY PORTRAITS?
We are confident that you are going to treasure your child's pictures, however, if you are unsatisfied for any reason, we can arrange for an exchange or refund. For refunds, we have a 30-day money-back guarantee. All requests need to be submitted within 30 days of the purchase date.
